How to use

  1. Pick Side by side, or From memory to see the target for only 3 seconds.
  2. Adjust the Hue, Saturation and Lightness sliders, or type a hex code, to match the target.
  3. Press Submit (or Enter) to get your ΔE score and hints on what's off.
  4. Play 5 rounds for a total out of 500. Your best score for each mode is saved.

How is the score calculated?

Each round compares your color to the target with the CIEDE2000 formula (ΔE). A ΔE of 0 scores 100, and each 1 ΔE takes off about 2.2 points.

What ΔE counts as a good match?

Below 1 is invisible to most people, 1–2 is only visible up close, and 2–10 is noticeable at a glance.

Does my screen affect the result?

Your screen's brightness and color settings change how colors look to you, but both colors are shown on the same screen, so the comparison is fair.
