Passwords are never stored or sent. They're generated on this device with your browser's cryptographic randomness (crypto.getRandomValues) and disappear when you close the page. Only your option settings are remembered in this browser.

    HOW TO

    How to use

    1. Under Random characters, set the length (4–128) and pick uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
    2. Edit the symbol list to match what the site allows, and choose whether to exclude look-alike characters and include at least one of each type.
    3. For something easier to remember, switch to Passphrase and pick the number of words, separator, capitalization and number options.
    4. Press Copy to grab the password, or generate 5–50 at once below and copy one or all of them.

    FAQ

    FAQ

Are generated passwords saved or sent anywhere?

No. They're created on your device with the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and never sent or stored. Only your option settings are remembered in this browser.

    How is the strength calculated?

Entropy is the number of possible passwords expressed in bits. With 'at least one of each type' on, only passwords that meet the rule are counted. 70+ bits shows as Strong and 90+ bits as Very strong, along with the average time to crack at 10 billion guesses per second.

    Are passphrases secure?

Yes, when the words are picked at random. The EFF Large Wordlist has 7,776 words, so each word adds about 12.9 bits. Five words plus a number is roughly 70 bits; use six or more words for important accounts.
