FAQ
FAQ
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. It's converted on this device with the browser's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs). Your video is never sent anywhere, and the result disappears when you close the tab, so be sure to download it.
How do I make a video file smaller?
File size is roughly quality (Mbps) × length. Dropping to 720p and choosing Standard or Small file quality helps the most. Turn on Remove audio if you don't need sound, and trim to just the part you need.
Should I choose MP4 or WebM?
If you're not sure where it's going, choose MP4 (H.264): it plays on phones, social media, messaging apps and almost every website. WebM (VP9) is smaller at the same quality but mainly for web browsers. Formats your browser can't encode are grayed out, and if AAC audio isn't supported you can use Opus or no audio.
Can I convert long videos or large files?
Yes, but depending on your device it can take longer than the video itself, and because the whole result is kept in browser memory, very long videos (tens of minutes or several GB) may fail. In that case, convert them in parts. Only convert videos you have the rights to.
